Children weep, women wail and men lament,
The pangs of hunger have spread far and wide,
Scarcity has gripped even the splendid well watered plains,
For sure this are the days Amos foresaw,
Days of famine not famine of bread nor water.
As I wandered from sea to sea and from north to east,
I came to the heart of Egypt prophesied by Isaiah,
In the midst of Egypt I stumbled upon an altar of the LORD,
There I rushed because the famine was severe,
And without a price I bought milk and wine,
Oh beloved are your streets,
Blessed among the cities,
An oasis in the midst of deserts,
Sweet melodies and joyous celebrations have filled your towns,
There in Kenya,
There in Kenya I met JESUS.
